Parlance - how easily we can allow us to consolidate what someone else wants to consolidate? Let's
say I take or change my name to the beauty, everyone who says my name
manifest it in himself and in others, no matter if I look like an ass-hole. Those who know me, would call me by my real name, those who do not know
me, would probably call me ass-hole when they see me and hear my name.
When a terrorist organisation call them self the IS, the Islamic State, they have defined themselves to be advocates for Islam and for an independent Islamic state. When all the media write and talk about the Islamic State, they help IS to manifest the message as representatives of Islam and their own state government.
They can call themselves whatever they want, but do we really need to accept their definition, IS can stand for so much more. Of course, we shall use IS so we know who we're talking about, why not name them as the Insufferable Sectarians instead - it would subvert their message.
